7th of July 2013 marked the pre-celebration of the 26th National Allergy Day Celebration worldwide, and Philippine Society of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology (PSAAI) with partnership with Department of Health and sponsorship like Omron Health Care Philippines made the special event happen. The event with the theme “Fighting Allergy: More Fun in the Philippines: Breaking Myths and Fallacies” was held at SMX Convention Center in Pasay City and attended by almost 500 doctors, patients and other guests.

The National Allergy Day kicked off thru Zumba Dance Lesson that was led by Ms. Regine Tolentino and DOH Asst. Sec. Eric Tayag. Many early goers, mostly children, actively participated to shoo their allergies away and start a fit lifestyle. Omron, as its usual support to the celebration, offered free blood pressure check up to the guests during the affair.

The program consists of various lectures such as “Take My Breath Away: United Airway Disease” discussed by Dr. Vicky Binas, Dr. Gwyneth Velez and Dr. Venjilyn S. Villaver, “Food Trip… Bad Trip: Food Allergy” by Dr. Mary Anne Castor, “Regal Shockers: Anaphylaxis” by Dr. Ma. Socorro Agcaoili and Cooking Demo sponsored by Ms. Cathy Tagle Garcia. A program also for the children was organized to educate them to address their condition through properly monitoring what they eat and hygienic habits.
